Photo of the day: it’s every Toyota Supra

A new Toyota Supra was revealed this week. You may have noticed. If you’ve not yet come over with complete Supra blindness, though, then have a little ogle at this. It’s the new, ‘A90’ Supra sitting pretty (or not, you tell us) in front of all the Supras that came before it.

From left to right, we have the A70 (1986-93), the A40/A50 (1978-81), the A60 (1981-85) and the now rather iconic A80 (1993-2002). Yeah, we wish they’d arranged them in chronological order too.

It’s a good illustration of where the new A90’s taken a lot of styling cues from the A80 – albeit without the spectacularly Nineties wing – and an even better illustration of how cool pop-up headlights used to be. We miss them.

The new Supra’s a bit of a different beast to its predecessors, especially given it’s based upon the platform of a BMW Z4 and currently borrows its engines with no change in output. Perhaps that’ll upset some of the die-hards, but seeing the new car with its ancestors may just win them over. Let us know your thoughts below.
