The month-long Movement Control Order (MCO) is a tough period for all Malaysians. This is especially true for the country's front liners who risk their lives each day in a nationwide effort to curb the coronavirus outbreak.

Fuel stations are among businesses allowed to stay open during the MCO. And despite a month of poor business compounded by free-falling fuel prices, it's heartening to see that some dealers are staying positive and doing their bit to help alleviate a national crisis.

Recently, Petron Malaysia shed light on the contributions made by its dealers to hospital personnel and PDRM on its Facebook page. The contributions included essentials like bottled water and hand sanitisers. One dealer in Setia Alam even went a step further by offering free bags of rice to those in need.

As Covid-19 continues to claim more lives all across the globe, efforts like this give us hope that there may still be light at the end of the tunnel that is the MCO. Not all heroes wear capes. And you can be one too without changing out of your pajamas by staying at home and washing your hands.
