A Porsche is typically something you buy once you've made it - a treat for when you've achieved a sufficient degree of financial freedom to go crazy with the options list and splurge on the most expensive window tints and detailing packages for your precious, new ride. But there are calculated buyers among us who crunch the numbers harder than a fresh grad in a Perodua showroom before signing off on a new Macan. These are the folks who'd be most delighted at the Sime Darby Auto Performance's (SDAP) latest offer for the brand's exceedingly popular compact SUV.
To celebrate its tenth anniversary as the sole authorised distributor of Porsche in Malaysia, SDAP has introduced an "enhanced Premium Package" for the Macan, which adds RM39,000 worth of optional features to the standard menu. This includes Comfort Access, Park Assist with Surround View and Porsche Active Suspension Management, which join a spec sheet already well endowed with luxuries such as Bose audio with Apple CarPlay and electric front seats with memory and 14-way adjustments.
The price for a 2020 Macan with the enhanced Premium Package remains unchanged at RM439,351 after factoring in the tax break which only lasts until the end of the year - that's a little over three more months before car prices are readjusted again. This means that the Macan is still the most affordable model in a Porsche showroom today, now made more enticing with the free addition of options that would otherwise set you back the cost of a top-spec Proton Saga.
