More than 400 orders were received since the launch in March

Volvo Car Malaysia announced yesterday that it has stopped taking online order requests for the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric.

The company said that this is due to the overwhelming response that is coming from potential buyers in Malaysia.

That being said, Volvo Car Malaysia will only begin taking orders again with the introduction of 2023 model year.

Launched in Malaysia in March 2022, Volvo Car Malaysia has received over 400 orders in just three months, and has delivered over 120 units to their respective owners nationwide.

Priced at RM262,460, the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric is powered by a set of electric motors placed between the axles which produce 408 PS and 660 Nm of torque.

In terms of performance, the EV SUV is able to hit 0-100km/h in just 4.9 seconds before arriving at its limited top speed of 180km/h.

Charging times are set around 7-8 hours via its onboard 11kW AC charger (Type 2). The XC40 also supports DC fast-charging up to 150kW and if you can manage to find one, the charging time from 0-80% will roughly take only 33 minutes.

Based on the XC40 compact premium SUV, the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric features a fully electric all-wheel-drive powertrain that offers a range of up to 418 km and is available in five colour options – Black Stone, Crystal White Pearl, Denim Blue, Glacier Silver and Sage Green.
