The Isuzu D-Max Auto Plus 4x2 1.9L is perfect for you urban-dwellers and high-mileage drivers

The all-new Isuzu D-Max was recently unveiled back in April and the response has been quite positive, particularly for its top-of-the-line D-Max X-Terrain variant. Now, there's a new variant that offers better value-for-money that's more ideal for urban driving and high-mileage drivers. This is the 2021 Isuzu D-Max Auto Plus 4x2.

Isuzu Malaysia introduced this particular model as only 28% of Malaysian pick-up truck owners actually engage the 4x4 system. By removing the transfer case, front differential, and ancillary drive system, the new D-Max Auto Plus 4x2 is less complex to operate and maintain plus a weight drop of 85kg. That's quite a cut which will definitely improve the variant's overall power-to-weight ratio.

Speaking of power, the D-Max Auto Plus 4x2 is powered by a 1.9-litre RZ4E-TC turbodiesel engine that produces 150PS at 3,600rpm and 350Nm of torque as low as 1,800rpm. All that power and torque is sent down to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission which has been tuned to deliver flat torque output and flexible throttle response.

The electronics department comes equipped with a lot of useful features for urban driving which includes:

• Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
• Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD)
• Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
• Traction Control System (TCS)
• Hill Start Assist (HSA)
• Hill Descent Control (HDC)
• Brake Override System (BOS)

As for the exterior, the new Isuzu D-Max Auto Plus 4x2 1.9L is fitted with a matte grey front grille, Bi-LED project headlamps with LED daytime-running lights, inset fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 255/65 R17 HT radials just to name a few. There are also the ‘4x2 Auto Plus’ decals on the sides as well as a reverse camera and reverse sensors as standard.
 
The all-new Isuzu D-Max Auto Plus 4x2 1.9L is priced at RM 100,999.20 (OTR excluding insurance) and customers can choose between five different colour options - Splash White Solid, Mercury Silver Metallic, Onyx Black Mica, Sapphire Blue Mica, and Valencia Orange Metallic. Bookings are open now and the first deliveries will begin in November.
