New Honda HR-V booking now open

Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (HMSB) has opened the booking for the new HR-V beginning today. The popular compact SUV was first introduced in 2015 and has since proved itself to be a consistent sales performer while retaining its no.1 position in the compact SUV segment for three consecutive years.

As of June, HMSB has sold more than 72,000 units of the HR-V making it the company’s second best-selling model. Up to 16 per cent of overall sales are attributed to this compact SUV.

The new HR-V will retain the same 1.8-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine as before together with the CVT gearbox. However, HMSB is introducing a new variant into the family – the RS. As the name suggests, it’s a sportier model – by way of its looks – that features a new set of LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, and rear combi LED guide lights. Also, it’ll come with the Honda signature ‘Solid Wing Face’ concept design up front.

This design features 18-inch dual-tone alloys, Sport Design front grille, new bumpers (front & rear), dark chrome outer handle, black chrome license garnish, and black side sill.

Also new in the upcoming HR-V RS is the Honda LaneWatch camera system. Fitted on the passenger-side side mirror, it allows for the driver to get a better view of the left side of the vehicle with very minimal blind spots. Standard safety features are the six airbags, Emergency Stop Signal, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill-Start Assist (HSAS), and multi-angle rear-view camera.

There’s even a new colour of Passion Red Pearl making its way into Honda Malaysia’s colour option.

We can expect the new HR-V to be launched in the third quarter of 2018, and customers who make a booking now will be rewarded with a Petronas gift card worth RM1,000 (valid provided vehicle registration is no later than 31 October 2018).

Booking for the new HR-V is now open and can be made at any of Honda’s 95 authorised dealers nationwide.

HMSB is also reporting that due to the surge of demand on the back of a zero-rated GST, the waiting period for certain Honda models now stands between three to four months.
