Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd (HLYM) continues to refresh its line up with new colourways, the latest effort now done to arguably its sportiest offering the YZF-R25.

As we’ve seen with the updates for the 2020MY X-Max 250 and NVX scooters prior, the 2020MY YZF-R25’s colourway options have been revised and now features a new matt silver hue alongside a new version of the brand’s signature matt blue scheme.

The red colourway seen prior has been dropped as a result of this update. Apart from that, the R25 remains mechanically unchanged from when its first debuted early last year, as does it YZF-R1-inspired styling.

Notably, there’s also no changes to its base price tag of RM19,998 (excluding insurance, registration and on-road costs), and it starts hitting authorised dealer floors nationwide this month.

Popularly referred to as the R25 V2, it features a peppy 249cc parallel-twin heart that outputs roughly 35.5bhp and 22.6Nm. Notable equipment and features on board include dual disc brakes, upsidedown (USD) front forks, and an LCD dash display.

What do you think, internet? Are you digging the new matt silver colourway? Or would you rather settle for the R25’s arguably more versatile rival the Kawasaki Ninja 250 instead?
