Now with an improved gearbox, and more personalisation options for riders

Boon Siew Honda has introduced the new upgraded version of the 2022 CRF1100 Africa Twin Adventure Sports.

First introduced to Malaysian roads in 2018, the 2022 version of the Africa Twin Adventure Sports now features a more refined Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) which promises to offer smoother handling in 1st and 2nd gears, and a new 110 mm shorter 5-level adjustable screen. 

The bike also gets a large 24.8L fuel tank, extensive wind protection (from both the fairing and fairing side panels), height-adjustable screen, large engine sump guard, aluminium rear carrier, plus tubeless tyres. ACC charger and heated grips are also a standard fit now.

Complementing the improved gearbox is the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system, a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that controls the 7-level HSTC, 3-level Wheelie Control, Cornering ABS, as well as Rear Lift Control and DCT cornering detection. 
 

There are four default riding modes which are URBAN, TOUR, GRAVEL and OFF-ROAD. There are also two available customisable USER modes to suit riders’ preferences.

Four default suspension modes – SOFT, MID, HARD and OFF-ROAD – cover every type of riding situation, and there’s a USER mode for further fine-tuning. Rear spring
preload can also be adjusted while stationary.
 

In addition, the riding position now features a slim-section seat and high-set handlebars. Dual LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) feature three-stage Cornering Lights that automatically adjust the field of illumination depending on the lean angle, giving optimum visibility, improving safety. Cruise control and heated grips are standard-fit as well.

A full colour Multi Information Display (MID) 6.5-inch TFT touch screen brings immersive engagement with the machine’s systems. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also integrated with the TFT screen, with the rider’s smartphone plugging into the USB charging port, while hands-free wireless Bluetooth connectivity is an option allowing riders to always stay connected with their device while cruising.

That being said, the 2022 Honda CRF1100 Africa Twin Adventure Sports will be available exclusively in Pearl Glare White Tricolour, with an asking price of RM117,888.
