Naomi Osaka is Nissan’s latest brand ambassador

Meet Nissan’s newest brand ambassador, Naomi Osaka. You might have heard of her these past few days, and it’s all because tennis super-champion Serena Williams simply crumbled and cried her way to losing to the 20-year old Japanese during last weekend’s US Open grand slam final.

As part of the partnership, Osaka will appear in global promotions and advertising for Nissan, and Nissan will support her activities as a tennis player, including providing Nissan vehicles at her tour destinations.

“This week has been a dream come to life, and I’m so honoured to represent Japan and Nissan on the world stage,” Osaka said. “I was drawn to partner with Nissan because of its strong Japanese DNA and global competitive spirit. The brand is always challenging expectations, and I look forward to bringing its vision for driving excitement to new audiences around the world.”

Let’s hope that she knows her cars and asks for a GT-R Nismo, or at the very least a 370Z. The Nissan Leaf she was posing with during the announcement ceremony is an okay car, but it’s not fit for a giant slayer such as herself.
