MV Agusta to attempt new world record - 11 countries in 24 hours

By sep, 17 June 2021

MV Agusta together with Italian motoring journalist, Valerio Boni, will attempt to beat the world record for the most countries visited in 24 hours on a motorcycle. His weapon of choice? MV Agusta's latest 2021 Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS. The journey? 2,000km across Europe from Sweden to Italy.

Boni will be attempting to do so on 21 June 2021, which happens to be the summer solstice, also known as the longest day of the year. His starting point will be in Malmö, Sweden and if all goes according to plan, Boni will arrive at MV Agusta's HQ in Schiranna, Italy before the 24 hours end.

Throughout that period of time, he'll be riding the 800cc Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS through 11 different countries - Sweden, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Italy. Boni is also targetting to kill a couple more birds with one stone by attempting to gain the SaddleSore 1600K and SaddleSore 2000K certifications from the Iron Butt Association.

According to the 62-year-old Italian, "This long, epic ride across Europe will certainly be challenging for both rider and bike, but the 2021 edition of the Turismo Veloce, in its production version, has everything it takes to achieve the objective in the best conditions. Thanks to the Turismo Veloce’s onboard technology we will be able to share the adventure in real-time on the official website www.mvagusta.com."
