Motor Image Group has confirmed that a component defect involving the electric power steering used by Subaru Corporation does not affect any of its customers. The issue – which resulted in the temporary suspension of Subaru Corp’s Gunma factory operations – was reported earlier to potentially affect certain models that include the Forester, Impreza, and Subaru XV assembled from late December 2018 to 16 January 2019.

Motor Image also reports that from the nine countries which they operate in, only three markets (Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore) have incoming shipments with 120 vehicles affected by this issue although none of the vehicles have been delivered to customers.

The company does elaborate that some customers waiting for the delivery of the 5th generation Subaru Forester may have to wait for longer than usual as production at the factory resumes back to normal.
