Most Toyota and Lexus outlets will reopen

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) announced that a majority of authorised Toyota and Lexus sales and service outlets located in areas observing the recently announced Conditional Movement Control/Restriction Order (MCO/MRO), will reopen and resume operations starting today.

However, the reopening of these outlets will be based on approval and regulations by the respective local state governments. Customers and the public are advised to call in advance to check on the operating days and hours of these outlet as well as to secure a prior appointment.

These outlets allowed to reopen follows the approval from the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI) and relevant local authorities. All of which received guidelines for their daily operations which must be in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by MITI – social distancing, sanitization of premises and contactless payments where possible.

Regarding Toyota and Lexus vehicles purchased from authorised dealers with existing warranties that are valid and expiring during the MCO period, UMWT reassures that there will be a 30-day extension calculated from the last day of the MCO, which is currently schedued to end on May 12.
