Modenas Pulsar NS200 gets ABS – RM9,655

Since it debuted locally in 2017, the Modenas Pulsar NS200 street bike has enjoyed stellar success in the local market. Though it is a rebadged of the India-made Bajaj Pulsar NS200, over 6,000 units have been sold to date according to Modenas.

In an effort to keep this momentum going, Modenas have announced an updated version of the popular and very affordable street bike. In its new 2020 model year guise, the Pulsar NS 200 gets a single-channel ABS (front) suite brimmed as standard.

Apart from that, little else has changed in terms of styling and mechanical spec. The latter sees the bike still harnessing Bajaj’s relatively peppy 200cc DTS-i single-cylinder powertrain as before, which delivers 24bhp and 18.6Nm to the rear wheel.

With ABS, there is a slight price hike, with the Pulsar NS200 now retailing from RM9,655 (basic). In contrast, that’s a mere RM433 increase from its previous RM9,222 (basic with 6% GST) figure when it debuted back in 2017.

Crucially, at said price, the Pulsar NS200 now stands as one of the most affordable ABS-equipped motorcycles on sale in Malaysia today. This is a huge boon on top of the fact that it is also one of the most affordable sub-250cc street bike on sale too.

“At Modenas, we always look into making our motorcycles better and are equipped with the latest technology the market has to offer. Bikes with ABS are safer and we highly encourage those looking to purchase a bike to buy one equipped with ABS,” said Roslan Roskan, CEO of Modenas.

Available at all authorised Modenas dealerships now, the updated and ABS-equipped Pulsar NS200 can be had in a choice of four colourways - Graphite Black, Mirage White, Wild Red and Yellow.
