PlayStation has given the virtual cars in the Gran Turismo driving game an actual tyre company as its official tyre technology partner. That’s how far realism has gone into such ‘simulators’, which is good news for Michelin as now tyres featured in Gran Turismo during the latter’s third World Tour live event will be branded as Michelin under a multi-year deal.

The free downloadable content is available for users by October 20109 and will also feature a new Michelin section on the Gran Turismo Sport “Brand Central” virtual museum, which introduces players to Michelin’s deep history in global motorsports, performance and innovation. On t op of that, gamers get to choose between Michelin hard, medium and soft compounds in the Tuning section, and you can see more Michelin on-track branding.
