Meet Malaysia's newest fuel retailer called Five

By thoriq, 19 March 2020

Heads up motorists, you may soon see a new chain of petrol stations called Five popping up in certain corners of the nation.

This new fuel stations chain is owned and operated by FIVE Petroleum Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which is a newly licensed and homegrown firm managed by the same workforce behind Seng Group.

Founded in 1971, the Seng Group has already established its own foothold as a leader in the petrol retail business by supplying and managing distribution services to petrol station operators, including the construction of new stations.

Five was officially licensed by the government back in January this year and, according to its press release issued earlier this week, the firm is slated to open its first station sometime this month in Kalumpang, Selangor.

In terms of the fuel itself, Five will be offering consumers its Ultimaxx-branded fuels that's sourced from Petronas. The latter firm entered into agreement with Five as a supplier, thus ensuring consumers are able to acquire fuels that meet the highest quality standards.

“FIVE is a unified energy company that aims to meet Malaysia’s growing demand for fuel in ways that are economically, environmentally, and socially responsible. We also want to help Malaysia reach its next milestone in development,” said the firm's chairman Datuk Haji Juhari Bin Abdul Ghani.

As a homegrown brand, Five aspires to grant Malaysians a hassle-free fuelling experience through the use of digital cashless payment technologies plus its very own customer loyalty program. Their stations will also house a convenience store that's been branded as Woo! Mart.

On top of this, Five also aims at offering smaller and easier station setup for new entrepreneurs. This means stations can be opened in more remote areas, bringing much-needed fuel supply to more accessible locations, which will revolutionise Malaysia’s petroleum retail market.

We will have more on this up and coming new chain as it builds its foothold in the local marketspace.
