The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) will be hosting the season opener for the Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) 2021 tomorrow and Thursday (10-12 November 2021). It'll be a double-header format where Yokohama and BHPetrol will be the official tyre partner and fuel partner for the national racing series.

Four race classes will be battling it out in the T Production (Touring Production above 2,000cc), Malaysia Touring Car (M Production 1,600cc modified class), Stock Production 1 (SP1 2,000cc), and Stock Production 2 (SP2 under 1,600cc). The overall race format has been upgraded for better racing action from the very eager competitors.

According to the CEO of SIC, Mr. Azhan Shafriman Hanif "After a long break, we are thrilled to be hosting the Malaysia Championship Series with a doubleheader format. With the recent SOP relaxation in Phase 4, fans can opt to watch the race live at the main grandstand. However, we should be mindful of the SOP - facemask should be worn at all times and maintain social distance."

"I would like to thank the National Security Council (MKN), Ministry of Health (KKM), Ministry of Youth & Sports (KBS), and Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) for their unwavering support towards motorsports events and activities. To the drivers & participating teams, all the best and race well," added Mr. Azhan.

As stated above, entrance to the Main Grandstand is free for those who are fully vaccinated and want to experience live racing action once again after the long Movement Control Order and early phases of the National Recovery Plan. For those who have not completed their vaccinations, you can still catch the races online via SIC's official Facebook page.
