Back in October Lynk & Co announced it was going to build a 500bhp-odd super-saloon based on its WTCR touring car. Well, people of the Internet, this is that car.

The 03 Cyan Concept is, as its name suggests, the result of a collaboration with Cyan Racing, the company behind all of Geely’s (Lynk & Co’s owners) motorsport activity. Developed by the same team that did the Volvo C30 and S60 Polestar concepts, the 03 uses a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine turbocharged up to a faintly ridiculous 528bhp at a screaming 7,800rpm.

Power is sent to the front wheels only through a six-speed sequential gearbox, enabling 0-100kph in a no doubt traction-limited 4.4 seconds, and 0-200kph in ten seconds flat. Top speed? 311kph. Blimey.

20in wheels shod with 285-section rubber hide a pair of 380mm front brake discs with six piston calipers, which together with the rears can haul the 03 from 100kph down to 0 in just 30 metres. Meanwhile Ohlins adjustable dampers help enable a claimed 1.5g maximum lateral g, which is rather impressive. Weight is pegged at 1,287kg.

Henrik Fries, Cyan Racing’s Head of Automotive R&D, says the car is being developed to “perform on all roads, all seasons and in all conditions”. Development is currently underway on public roads in Spain, but work will also be done alongside the race team at various circuits as they prepare for this year’s WTCR season, which starts in April. Cyan is fielding four cars, driven by Thed Björk, Yvan Muller, Andy Priaulx and Yann Ehrlacher.

No word on price, eventual availability or anything like that. More as we have it.
