Lexus now accepting orders for 2021 LS500 facelift in Malaysia

By daryl, 01 February 2021

28 ways of seat adjustment, 23 speakers and 12 airbags; the Lexus LS500 is a car of undisputed excess. Its arsenal of massage programs and the intricacy of its Kiriko glass panels are things we're familiar with by now, having first driven the car three years ago before reacquainting ourselves with one of Japan's finest limousines in a convoy to Penang before the Movement Control Order (MCO) was first enforced last year.

Lexus has since given its flagship an update, with a new (and slimmer) pair of LED headlights with 'BladeScan' adaptive high-beams, redesigned bumpers and a dark metallic spindle grille being the key upgrades in an otherwise unchanged exterior, which can now be had in two new colours: Iridium Silver and Sonic Iridium. The cabin is as lavishly-kitted as before, while a new Parking Support Brake (PKSB) function and Active Assist seat belts join a generous list of safety equipment headlined by the Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) suite of semi-autonomous driver aids.

Things remain unchanged under the hood, not that it's any reason to complain; Lexus's competent 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 soldiers on to give the LS500 415hp and 600Nm of twist to toy around with. Zero to 100kph is achieved in five seconds flat with top speed electronically limited to 250kph.

Prices start from RM1,023,629 for the LS500 Luxury while the flagship LS500 Executive Kiriko tops out at RM1,304,768 on the road without insurance. These prices also factor in the ongoing sales tax exemption. The order books are open as we speak, and early birds can expect to take delivery of their new limos as early as May 2021.
