KTM RC 8C track beast launched - 128hp, 140kg

By sep, 21 July 2021

KTM has finally rolled out its latest sports bike, but you can only ride it on the track AND only 100 units will be made for global production. The KTM RC 8C is labelled as an 'apex slayer' built for one thing and one thing only - to go around any circuit as fast as possible.

Sitting at only 140kg (dry weight), the KTM RC 8C has an almost 1:1 power/weight ratio thanks to a combination of a few particular aspects. Its Moto2-inspired race chassis is fitted with the brand's 890cc parallel-twin engine based on the KTM 890 Duke R, but has been tuned to produce 128hp.

The KTM RC 8C is also fitted with track-ready parts to ensure that it's as close as KTM's factory race bike, which is why you'll see a lot of WP Suspension pro components, Brembo Stylema brakes, and carbon Kevlar-reinforced GRP bodywork inspired by KTM's MotoGP project prototype, the RC16. Hence, the winglets upfront. SWEET.

Other specs include quick-release tank and body panels, lightweight Dymag wheels wrapped with a set of Pirelli SC1 race slicks, AIM MXS 1.2 RACE dashboard and data logger with integrated GPS function via a 5-inch TFT display, Akrapovic race exhaust with a titanium muffler, race airbox and air filter, plus more.

Out of the 100 owners, 25 customers will be invited to an exclusive track day event in Jerez, Spain where they'll be given the opportunity to learn from KTM's decorated pro riders, Dani Pedrosa and Mika Kallio. But all owners will also receive the KTM RC 8C race track package which includes:

  • Extra set of Dymag wheels (Front and Rear)
  • Extra set of front and rear brake discs
  • Front and rear paddock stands
  • Tyre warmers
  • KTM Race carpet
