Kia's new EV is expected to be launched in Malaysia within the next couple of months
Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor for Kia vehicles in Malaysia has collaborated with the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour Malaysia for the ongoing 2022 PGM Kia Championship golf tournament happening until tomorrow at the Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort.
In line with the collaboration, a unit of the Kia Carnival MPV was put on display on the first day of the PGM yesterday for the participants and guests to feast their eyes on.
Today however, the folks at Dinamikjaya decided to take things a notch higher by bringing out a unit of the Kia EV6 electric SUV and putting it on display at the Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort.
This is actually the first time the Kia EV6 is being seen out in the open in Malaysia, following Dinamikjaya Motors' announcement a few months ago that the model will be launched either in the third or final quarter of 2022.
Powered by the same electric powertrain as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the unit on display is actually a right-hand drive version which looks quite ready to be launched.
There has not been any word on whether we will be receiving the standard version which can cover up to 394 km, or the long range variant which comes with a driving range of 530 km, or both, but we were told that the unit on display is the long-range version.
Unfortunately, access to the EV6's cabin was denied, so all people could access was the exterior which looks rather futuristic and interesting.
Measuring almost as long as the Carnival, the EV6 looks like it will be catered towards those who are looking for a stylish, sleek, and practical family-oriented electric SUV.
That being said, watch this space for more updates on the Kia EV6 and its Malaysian debut.
