Following the major success of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R in Indonesia after its official launch back in July 2020, Kawasaki Indonesia has updated its 250cc four-cylinder offering with four new colour options for the year 2022 model. The unveiling was held online via Kawasaki Indonesia's YouTube page, together with the launch of the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.
Indonesian customers can opt to get the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R in Lime Green, Passion Red, Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Grey, Metallic Spark Black (non-ABS model). These new colourways were introduced to cater to the bike's massive demand after Kawasaki Indonesia doubled the sales target initially set last year. They were set on 2,000 units, but sold over 4,000 units in 2020 alone.
The 'hero' colour of the Lime Green portrays its bigger and more powerful sibling, the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. You can see those colours being represented in WorldSBK by Kawasaki's factory squad and riders, Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes. Coincidentally, Kawasaki Indonesia also launched the 998cc inline-four superbike for its local market.
As for Malaysia, we're still waiting on the arrival of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R. Kawasaki Motors Malaysia (KMSB) has been keeping a tight lid ever since its takeover of the Suzuki motor brand here in Malaysia after local motorcycle manufacturer, Modenas, announced that they'll be taking over the CKD operations for Kawasaki in the country.
This has led to the still unanswered question of who will be taking care of the CBU market for Kawasaki here in Malaysia, which includes the Ninja ZX-25R and ZX-10R launched by Indonesia last week. It's definitely slower than expected due to COVID-19, but it has been way too long without any official updates pertaining to Kawasaki.
