Karter gets 15-year ban for throwing bumper at rival

Luca Corberi made waves in the world of motorsports last year during the FIA KZ Karting World Championship in Italy. After crashing out due to a collision with a fellow rival karter, Paolo Ippolito, the 23-year-old reacted by picking up his broken front bumper, waited for Ippolito to drive by, and proceeded by hurling the debris into the oncoming direction WHILE THE RACE WAS GOING ON.

He also ignored race officials by crossing the track at several points (the race was still active at the time). If that wasn't enough to be labeled as the Karting Championship's 'Public Enemy Number 1", Corberi later started a brawl in parc ferme after the race ended. Race officials and even parents of both drivers got involved to separate Corberi away from Ippolito. Yikes, talk about anger management issues.

The official decision was posted by the FIA tribunal, which led to Corberi's complete disqualification in the 2020 World Championship as well as baring him from entering any races sanctioned under the FIA for the next 15 years. They did consider a lifetime ban, but 15 years is indeed a long time away from any competition, let alone racing. Sometimes, you need some tough love.
