Is Porsche's 10 Years Edition the best looking Panamera yet?

It’s fair to say that we’ve dished out our fair share of criticism to shameless special edition cars in the past. They’re often a marketing ploy with some tenuous historical link drawn up as an excuse to add a few stickers while charging a hefty premium.

Now, we’re not saying whether that’s the case with the Porsche Panamera 10 Years Editions – that’s for you to decide – although the fact that the Panamera has now been on sale for 10 years is no tenuous link, it’s a cold hard fact. What we will say, though, is that these special editions look absolutely fantastic.

We use ‘these’ because the 10 Years Edition spec can be had on the standard Panamera 4, the Panamera 4 Sport Turismo, the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid or the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo.

That means you can have a car with perhaps one of the longest names in history – the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo 10 Years Edition. Try explaining that one the next time someone asks what you drive.

However, it also means that under the bonnet of this special edition is either a simple 325bhp twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6, or the same engine with an additional 134bhp electric motor attached in the E-Hybrid versions. No mechanical changes are made, but you do get Porsche’s adaptive air suspension as standard (usually a £1,600 (approx. RM8,200) option).

Each of the 10 Years Editions carries around a £10,000 (approx. RM52,000) premium over its standard sibling, but there’s plenty more kit for your money. A non-exhaustive list includes the usually optional panoramic roof, privacy glass, heated seats, soft-close doors, BOSE sound system, LED headlights, lane change assist and reversing camera.

Also, let’s get back to the looks – metallic black paint and those exclusive 21-inch white gold wheels? That is one hell of a spec.

In fact, we think this might just be the best-looking Panamera yet. What do you think?
