Honda Malaysia now offers an enhanced insurance plan

In case you haven’t noticed, Honda Malaysia hasn’t just sold cars throughout its existence. Since 2002 at least, the firm even offers its very own insurance policy for customers called the Honda Insurance Plus – or HiP, as the firm refers it as.

Today, Honda Malaysia announced that it has enhanced said HiP plan by strengthening on its core Rescue, Protection and Savings fronts. The beefed up insurance coverage is aimed at giving consumers even greater peace of mind now.

Like most other vehicular insurance plans, HiP’s Rescue coverage includes access to a towing service that works 24-7 (all day, all week) for accidents, breakdowns and floods. Before you ask, the HiP Rescue coverage also handles typical situations such as flat battery replacements, flat tyre changes, as well as for when you run out of fuel.

Besides that, the HiP Rescue service allow members to have their Honda cars sent to the nearest authorised Honda Body & Paint (B&P) Centre within a 450km round trip from their location. Excluding spare parts, it also offers free labour of up to RM200 (per event) for roadside repair services.

As for Protection, HiP members are guaranteed high quality workmanship on all body and paint repairs performed at authorised Honda B&P centres, as well as 100% usage of genuine Honda body and parts replacements. These, by the way, also come with a 6 months or 10,000km mileage warranty and medical assistance too.

On top of that, Honda Malaysia have added a new Personal Accident Coverage for HiP members. This alone will offer coverage of up to RM15,000 in the event of Accidental Death or Permanent Disability in the Named Vehicle Car accident (T&Cs apply).

Lastly comes the improvement in Savings, most notable being the HiP 100% insurance payout. This is based on the agreed value if car is stolen or severely damaged in an accident for vehicle age of up to 10 years since registration prior, but is now upgraded to 13 years. There’s also a relief allowance of up to RM1,500 in the event of flood and theft or total loss, and up to RM1,000 for lost key replacement.

In short, this is yet another option to consider should you find yourself in the fortunate position as a prospect for a brand new Honda like the upcoming new City RS i-MMD.
