Honda Malaysia’s latest product for its customers is not even a car, but the convenience it offers is just as good. The company calls it the Honda Insurance Plus (HiP) which is an insurance package for total peace of mind should any unforeseen issue happen to the Honda vehicle protected by the plan.

With a tagline of ‘Built by Honda. Protected by Honda. Repaired by Honda’ HiP is supported by three pillars: Rescue, Protection, and Savings.
Rescue
There is a HiP rescue team on call 24-hours a day, seven days a week which can be reached at 1-800-18-1177. Honda Malaysia customers nationwide who subscribes to HiP can call the number anytime following an accident, car breakdown, or when the vehicle is stuck following a flood so that a towing service can be dispatched. The car will then be sent to the nearest Honda Authorised Body and Paint Centre within a 450km round trip radius for inspection and repair.
Meanwhile, a designated authorised Honda dealer will then keep the owner constantly guided and updated on the claim procedure. HiP also offers roadside repair service with free labour up to RM200, including for jump starts, battery replacement, changing a flat tyre, and even fuel refill, not including cost of spare parts.
Protection
For cars involved in accidents or breakdowns, inspection will be done by specialists who adhere to Honda standards. Currently there are 23 authorised Honda Body and Paint Centres throughout Malaysia where the inspection will be conducted at. Naturally, all parts and vehicle body replacements used are 100 per cent genuine with a six months or 10,000km service warranty. Customers will be able to get their cars back quicker and with faster claim approval, especially for pre-approved claims below RM20,000 repaired only at Honda Authorised Body and Paint Centres.
Savings
HiP comes with extended coverage terms with savings on replacement costs. Additionally, it includes 100 per cent pay-out in case of theft or total loss due to accident (based on sum insured). Honda Malaysia says that there are also no hidden costs for new parts used in accident repairs for cars up to ten years.
