Honda Malaysia announced a proactive product recall involving the City Hybrid 2021 Year Model and Civic 2022 Year Model in a precautionary safety measure.

For the City Hybrid, the recall is a precautionary safety measure to replace the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) camera that is fitted in the front windscreen. The camera may not operate properly and cause ADAS to be inactive when driving. A total of 630 units of City Hybrid 2021 Year Model are affected.

As for the 2022 Civic, 72 units have been recalled as a precautionary safety measure to rectify the welding point at the slide adjuster in the driver seat, which may cause the driver seat to be not fixed in position when driving and may compromise the seatbelt protection for the driver.

Honda Malaysia, which gave reassurance that other current production and selling models are not affected in this product recall, also announced that there are no incidences of crashes or injuries were caused by this issue Malaysia.

All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product recall. Honda Malaysia urges all affected customers to contact any Honda authorised dealer to make an appointment upon receipt of the notification to have their vehicles checked and repaired if required, subject to parts availability.

Honda Malaysia also encourages customers to download and update their details via the HondaTouch mobile application for further verification on this recall. The inspection, repair and replacement of the affected parts are free of charge and all costs related to this recall activity will be borne by Honda Malaysia.
