Here are some sketches of Skoda’s upcoming seven-seat EV
Soon enough, the drawings you see above will morph into the real-life, all-electric Skoda Vision 7S concept car. After that, who knows whether it’ll actually make production, but surely a seven-seat EV SUV is right up Skoda’s alley? Yeah, expect to see it in showrooms in a few years’ time.
Skoda has also admitted that when it arrives, the Vision 7S concept will preview the brand’s new design language, with a redesigned front-end the most striking change. Check out the wider closed-off grille, the T-shaped headlight/daytime running light combo and the verticle air intakes lower down. Fairly chunky looking, isn’t it?
Skoda says this new design language “is based on traditional brand values such as robustness, functionality and authenticity” and that it is “characterised by spaciousness, durable and sustainable materials and an aerodynamic, efficient shape”.
A couple of weeks ago the Czech firm also released a sketch of the Vision 7S’s interior, showing space for seven with a centrally-mounted child seat, a full glass roof and a dash that recedes when the car is stationary in ‘Relax mode’.
Skoda has also said that there will be “movable interior elements” and that the concept will offer a “balanced ratio of haptic and digital controls”. Uh oh.
Will a seven-seat Skoda EV be popular among the masses?
