These are the first 11 owners of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV

Ever since its debut last month, the all-new Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been getting a lot of intention in the automotive industry, and for all the right reasons. Bookings for this electric SUV-sized hatchback have been flooding in, and Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) was more than happy to present the keys to the first 11 customers at its Ara Damansara showroom.

It was a mix of three variants on offer delivered to these proud new owners, which are the Lite, Plus, and Max, with a tonne of features and specs well enough to earn the Ioniq 5 six awards from the Auto Express New Car Awards 2021, more importantly, the title of ‘Car of the Year’.

According to Low Yuan Lung, Managing Director of HSDM, "Redefining the electric mobility lifestyle, the Ioniq 5 sets a new benchmark with its global acclaim for combining sustainability with a powerful performance. Testament to this, since the launch in Malaysia in March 2022, we have recorded more than 200 bookings. This indeed reflects the highly positive reception for this innovative sustainable vehicle, and we will continue to strive to meet customer demand."

The first 11 owners of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 were also given a complimentary one-year membership with chargEV, an EV charging provided with over 400 stations across the country. To know more about Hyundai Malaysia's second-ever EV model, check it out below.
