Fancy A Honda City Special Edition?

By thoriq, 29 August 2019

Honda Malaysia announced the availability of a special new variant of its popular City B-segment sedan model today. Aptly christened as the Honda City Special Edition, it’s essentially a Honda City 1.5E that’s further specced up with features.

So, what’s special about this ‘Special Edition’? Plenty.  For starters, Honda have added a few new bits like a trunk organiser and door visors. Useful? Perhaps. Of course, that's not all that this special packs.

New on board too is a built-in toll reader device (ala LokaTAG), as well as a pair of Digital Video Recorders (DVR) or what’s commonly known as dashcam – forward- and rear-facing.

These additions see this Honda upping the ante against the rivalling Toyota Vios.

Mechanically, the Honda City Special Edition remains unchanged from the existing mid-spec Honda City 1.5E variant, so no changes with its 1.5-litre 4cyl petrol and CVT powertrain setup.

This also means you get the full swing of standard safety features  said mid-spec variant had. The bill includes notable things like four airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, stability control (VSA).

Of course, this being a special offering, Honda have also set a ‘special’ price tag for the City Special Edition, which starts from RM75,955 for Passion Red Pearl paint scheme option, and from RM76,075 for the White Orchid Pearl paint option.

For your reference, the base Honda City 1.5E the Special Edition underpins retails from RM79,615 onwards. In other words, you’re getting more for less Ringgits with this special offering.
