Eight-year battery coverage extended to all Volvo PHEVs in Malaysia

By daryl, 22 December 2020

Earlier this year, Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) announced that all of the plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) it sold in Malaysia that were registered from 1 January 2020 would have their hybrid batteries covered by an eight-year warranty capped at 160,000km. The company has since extended the coverage to all PHEVs officially sold in Malaysia to date. This bolsters the support for early adopters of the Swedish marque's first T8 offerings in the country, starting with the XC90 T8 CBU that was launched way back in 2015.

PHEVs make up a sizeable portion of VCM's local catalogue, with the Volvo XC40 being the only nameplate on sale in Malaysia lacking an electrified variant at time of writing. The sole variant of the Volvo S60 is powered by the company's T8 powertrain, which headlines the line-ups for the XC60, XC90 and S90 as well.

As we continue our journey into sustainability, we are happy to announce this new, extended warranty coverage for our customers who have purchased any Volvo PHEVs since the launch of our first XC90 PHEV in Malaysia. This is our way of showing gratitude to the early adopters and also for those who are striving to make a more sustainable decision
