Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak unleashed - "Rule All Mountains"
This is the Ducati Multistrada V4 on steroids to conquer any asphalt
It's inevitable that a Pikes Peak version of the Ducati Multistrada V4 will come into play sooner if not later. The third chapter of the 2022 Ducati World Premiere has seen this come into reality and the Italian manufacturer has injected a lot of sportiness into its very advanced adventure bike.
The 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is basically a 'race version' of the brand's adventure offering with a lot of exciting features. Apart from its new colourway inspired by Ducati's MotoGP prototype, the Desmosedici GP, the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak comes with a number of changes that can basically slay any mountain road or track.
Labelled as the sportiest Multistrada ever, this Pikes Peak model comes with a dedicated riding position (10mm backwards and upwards), 17-inch wheels with sport tyres, single-side swingarm, Ohlins electronic suspension, and a new racing mode called 'Race'.
Powering all that is still the very capable 1,158cc Granturismo V4 engine that produces 170hp at 10,500rpm and 125Nm of torque at 8,750rpm. Ducati also updated its rev limited and quickshifter functions for the ultimate riding experience this particular segment has to offer.
A set of 17-inch Marchesini aluminium forged wheels together with the revised riding ergonomics offer a more dynamic riding experience, particularly on the asphalt. That is further assisted with the addition of Ducati's signature single-sided swingarm. Lovely, lovely.
The cherry on top of that cake (and it's a big cherry) is the Smart EC 2.0 Öhlins suspension, the first Multistrada model to come with this particular spec. The system allows for instant ' event-based' adjustment based on the rider's riding style where it'll accommodate and deliver the best based on the rider's overall input.
Other additions include carbon fibre components, full titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, Pikes Peak livery, new smoked windshield, Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV rubbers, revised chassis dimensions, Brembo Stylema brakes, and a significant weight reduction for a better power-to-weight ratio. Other specs like the radar tech for Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection are maintained.
