DS Automobiles to go 100% electric by 2024

By 2024, all new models from DS Automobiles will be 100% electric

'Premium' is probably the best word to describe DS Automobiles, but a new descriptor will be used by them come 2024 - 'fully electric'. That's right, DS Automobiles has announced that they'll be converting to 100% electric in three years' time, the next step in their evolution following their current stage of electrifying all new models since 2019.

The French-based manufacturer under the Stellantis umbrella will usher in its first 100% electric project using the STLA Medium platform. Using high capacity batteries up to 104kWh, the all-electric DS Automobiles model is said to be able to cover up to 700km with a single full charge. This will all start with the upcoming DS 4 model, the first offering from DS to kickstart their all-electric campaign.

According to Béatrice Foucher, CEO of DS Automobiles, "The car industry is experiencing a change whose breadth and speed are unprecedented. As a pioneer, DS Automobiles anticipated this move with electrification at the centre of its strategy. The next developments in legislation and the #ev ecosystem provide opportunities that we want to offer to our customers who already like our electrified range. I took the decision to speed up the development to create a new 100% electric art of travel, desirable in terms of enjoyment and remarkable in terms of quality and performance; a new art of travel, steadfastly high tech and still just as refined. It is a daring plan that will take shape from 2024."

DS Automobiles is also heavily involved in the world of Formula E. Their success in the all-electric racing series includes winning two consecutive Teams’ and Drivers’ titles. Their plan to go all-electric by 2024 will also see them continuing their Formula E racing efforts as they've renewed their participation until 2026. Not bad, DS. Not bad at all.
