Cycle & Carriage Alor Setar Autohaus strengthens Merc’s grip in the north

There’s a new Mercedes-Benz dealership in Alor Setar, Kedah. And it’s a massive boost to the Three-pointed Star’s presence in the north at a time when the Malaysian automotive industry is exhibiting early but promising signs of recovery after sales came to a momentary halt when the Movement Control Order (MCO) was first announced.

At the heart of this expansion is long-serving distributor Cycle & Carriage Bintang Berhad, which put more than RM8 million into constructing the first Mercedes-Benz Autohaus to embody the new “Retail Brand Presence” in Malaysia’s northern region.

The new corporate identity is a reflection of the Stuttgart brand’s modern way of empowering the customer, with the showroom area opening up more space for customer service by minimising spatial boundaries and removing permanent workstations. There’s even a hospitality café and product experts on hand to cap off the premium ownership experience often associated with Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Cycle & Carriage first introduced this brand concept back in 2019 with the Mutiara Damansara Autohaus in Selangor. The Alor Setar Autohaus demonstrates how the state-of-the-art 3S facility can be adapted beyond the bustling confines of the Klang Valley. Cycle & Carriage is already working to widen this network even more, with new facilities in Johor Bahru and Ipoh targeted to be completed by the end of 2020.
