Covid-19: Super GT's Malaysian comeback the latest casualty

By daryl, 06 April 2020

The highly-anticipated return of the Super GT to Malaysia has been postponed until further notice. This comes after the GT Association (GTA) confirmed a delay to the entire 2020 Autobacs Super GT series in response to the escalating Covid-19 pandemic, which also affects Round 5 originally scheduled to take place in the Sepang International Circuit from 16 to 19 July 2020.

This news may come as a disappointment to Malaysians who were hoping to snag a free Toyota Supra at the event. However, organiser Haro Sports & Entertainment has confirmed that tickets that have already been purchased will still be valid upon rescheduling. Haro added that it will continue working with relevant authorities to monitor the pandemic situation before confirming a new date when Covid-19 no longer poses a threat to spectators, racing teams and event partners alike.
