Covid-19: Naza Kia Malaysia reiterates global 'Kia Promise'

By daryl, 14 April 2020

Here's a bit of good news if you own a MY2015 Kia with an expiring warranty. Local distributor Naza Kia Malaysia has relayed the message previously delivered by its South Korean Korean principal as part of the latter's worldwide commitment to extend factory warranties expiring within the ongoing period of crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As part of the 'Kia Promise', all original Kia warranties scheduled to expire between 1 February 2020 and 30 April 2020 are automatically extended to 30 June 2020. This gesture of goodwill applies to over 500,000 Kia vehicles sold through official dealers across 142 countries globally.

Since this official statement has been relayed through Naza Kia Motors' official communication channels, we can safely assume that the Kia Promise extends to Malaysian owners as well. That should be a big weight off the shoulder for those of you who are still making payments for a Kia you bought five years ago.

“By extending Kia’s comprehensive warranty cover to customers who may be affected by the pandemic, Kia Motors hopes they have one less thing to worry about during this time. Our goal is to help to alleviate any concerns our customers have about vehicle maintenance during periods of social distancing,” Sangdae Kim, Senior VP and head of Global Customer Experience Division at Kia Motors Corporation.
