Check out this modified G-Wagen with suicide doors
German tuner Hofele is well aware that most modern G-Wagens barely scratch the surface of their off-road ability. It rightly reckons that most are bought as alternatives to luxury limos, and so instead of churning out a proper rock-crawler or a 1,000bhp+ G63, it has built a G with rear seat passengers in mind.
The first thing you’ll notice is the suicide doors. Combined with the electronic side steps they should make access into the rear seats easier.
And these aren’t any normal rear seats. Hofele has fitted a pair of giant armchairs that are trimmed in Nappa leather and have massage, heating and cooling properties. There are screens on the back of the front seats too, as well as a central tablet between the chairs. Looks pretty cosy, doesn’t it?
On the outside there’s a new front grille, wider carbon fibre wheel arches (because G-Wagen) and a set of HUGE 23-inch turbine-style alloy wheels. There’s a fair bit of chrome too, as well as a two-tone paint job with ‘Carpathian Grey by Range Rover’ on top and ‘Crystal Black by Rolls Royce’ underneath. Nice bit of parts sharing there.
What do we reckon, folks? Does the G suit its new suicide doors?
