Brace yourselves, a new Lamborghini Countach is coming!

The first Lamborghini Countach was unveiled 50 years ago, and now, the new one is going to be a hybrid

The very first Lamborghini Countach was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show back in 1971. Close to 2,000 units were produced from 1974 to 1990 and that was basically the end of its era. Now, a new Lamborghini Countach is coming and we're going through all kinds of feels and emotions right now.

Lambo's message to the world was short and sweet. "Future is our legacy. And the new Lamborghini Countach is coming. Stay tuned…" In celebrations of the iconic supercar's 50th anniversary, the official name for it is the Lamborghini Countach LPI800-4. So, what can we expect from this legendary Lambo model comeback?

For one thing, it is most certainly going to be a hybrid model judging by its name. LPI actually stands for 'longitudinale posteriore ibrido' which translates to 'hybrid rear longitudinal'. It'll also most likely be an all-wheel-drive model with close to 800PS, which is not that far off from the brand's first production hybrid supercar, the Lamborghini Sián.

While the Sián uses a supercapacitor for its 'hybrid' part, the new Lamborghini Countach is still in the dark on which hybrid system it'll use. Will it be a more conventional system like the Ferrari SF90, or will it use a more developed supercapacitor system found in the Sián? This, we will have to wait.

If you're interested to see this baby, you won't have to wait too long as it'll be globally unveiled on 15 August 2021 at the Monterey Car Week. Brace yourselves, a new Lamborghini Countach is coming!
