Though standing as one of the country’s leading BMW Motorrad dealers, the folks at Auto Bavaria has never organised a cross-border convoy ride. Well, that has changed following the firm’s first successfully ride in and out of Thailand held last month.

The ride saw Auto Bavaria host 20 participating customers, all riding a wide selection of BMW Motorrad machines. Included were models like the R1200 and R1250 GS adventure tourer, as well as the R1200 RT tourer and S1000 XR dual-sport.

The ride, which kicked off last month on November 7, saw two groups departing from two separate locations – Auto Bavaria Penang and Auto Bavaria Glenmarie. Both groups would later link up together once in Danok, Thailand.

Lasting for six days until November 12, the combined group made their way to Khao Yai in North Thailand and back. The route taken saw the group ride through some of the Kingdom’s famed locales such as Route 41 Cowboy Town, Suratthani, Ratchaburi and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

Included in the ride too was a brief stopover at MF Motorrad Rama II in Bangkok. After which, the riders also got to enjoy the privilege of being escorted by Thai Traffic Police and a Thai Marshal as outriders for the continued ride to Khao Yai.

The itinerary is very well done and it is enjoyable to all,” said Derek Clyde, one of the participants. “It is a great effort by Auto Bavaria, going the extra mile to provide a riding experience that no one else can give, ” he added.

For this ride, Auto Bavaria left no stone unturned when it came to delivering an exclusive riding experience with great hospitality. The effort saw the firm deploy a number of support cars, a rescue van and a technical crew, not forgetting a professional photographer and video crew to document the ride for the participants.

With this inaugural cross-border trip’s success, Auto Bavaria looks set to follow up on the effort by organising more rides as such – both locally and abroad – in the future. BMW Motorrad owners who want to be a part of these future events can visit the official BMW Motorrad Auto Bavaria Facebook page or its official Instagram page for updates.
