2021 Aston Martin Vantage with updated grille now in Malaysia – first 'Liquid Crimson' unit sold on arrival

Last year, Aston Martin updated the face of the Vantage with a 'vaned' grille to celebrate the nameplate's 70th anniversary. It's a slightly more conventional look that nudges the current-gen Vantage closer to the same aesthetic level occupied by some of the brand's timeless designs such as the DB5 and Vanquish – more DB11 and less Valhalla, so to speak. And you can now order a Vantage with said grille from Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur.

To accommodate the softer-edged grille featuring five horizontal vanes/slats, which can be had in black or silver, even the front bumper and splitter have been slightly redesigned. Not content with a fresh face, Aston Martin has also introduced new options for the Vantage, such as black emblems and 20-inch 'Snowflake' wheels that are over six kilograms lighter than the standard fitment.

To showcase these new features, Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur has introduced a customised variant called the Vantage in Liquid Crimson. Named after the deep red hue the two-door sports car is painted in, the Vantage Liquid Crimson is fitted with a matching interior, with the upholstery done in 'Caithness' leather – a type of leather that has been milled over time to produce a softer and more luxurious feel.

The Aston Martin Vantage Liquid Crimson goes for RM851,000, RM173,000 more than the Vantage's RM678,000 base price. These figures do not include duties and taxes. And although on the high side, the first customised unit was sold as soon as it landed in Malaysia to Datuk Idrus Mohd Satha, who is best known for his work in the national education sector.
