All-New Perodua Alza was the most-booked car on SST exemption deadline

It has been just two weeks since the SST exemption ended and as expected, thousands of last minute bookings were made by Malaysians at numerous car showrooms around the country on the 30th of June 2022.

Out of the lot, Perodua received arguably the highest number of bookings among all the brands - 25,100 to be exact, which is the most the company has ever received in a day, ever.

Speaking during a media get-together held last week at the brand's headquarters in Serendah, Perodua's CEO and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad shared that a large bulk of the aforementioned last day bookings were actually for the upcoming 2022 Perodua Alza which is due to be launched very soon.

Tentatively priced between RM62,000 and RM75,000 (in West Malaysia,without insurance and pre-sales tax), the all-new Perodua Alza will be available in three variants (X, H, AV) and in five colours (Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Garnet Red, Elegant Black (new), Vintage Brown (new).

Powering the all-new Alza is the same powertrain package as the latest Myvi, comprising a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine producing 106 PS and 137 Nm of torque, paired to a D-CVT automatic gearbox. According to Perodua, the fuel consumption is rated at 22 km/l.

In regards to storage space, the New Perodua Alza has a luggage capacity of 137 litres but a 498-litre capacity if the third row seats are folded.

In terms of safety, the AV variant comes with 6 airbags, while the X and H variants comes with 4 airbags. The New Perodua Alza also comes with the Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA) suite, which can be divided into four categories; the Advance Safety Assist (ASA), Driver Assist, Parking Assist and Headlamp Assist.

The latest features for a Perodua model include a 360⁰ Panoramic View, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Brake Hold, Rear Disc Brake and a new Drive Mode: Normal, Eco and Power.

Among the standard safety features of this new model include ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control (VSC) with brake assist and rear sensors to assist with parking.

That being said, Perodua announced that it is still maintaining its full year sales target of 247,800 units as it is confident in models like the all-new Alza which is receiving overwhelming response, alongside other models like the Myvi, Bezza, and Axia which are all still highly sought after by Malaysians.
