Pricing for the upcoming 4th generation Hyundai Santa Fe has been revealed, and thus officially on sale from now. There are two engine options to choose: one with the Theta II 2.4-litre petrol engine, and the other 2.2-litre CRDi diesel, each available in two trims.
- 2.4 MPI Executive RM169,888
- 2.4 MPI Premium RM189,888
- 2.2 CRDi Executive RM191,888
- 2.2 CRDi Premium RM211,888
[These introductory prices are valid until end of June 2019]
The 2.4-litre engine makes 172ps and 225Nm which goes to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2.2-litre diesel pushes out 193ps while torque is 440Nm and channeled out to all four wheels (AWD) via Hyundai’s new 8-speed automatic. At these prices, it makes Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) one of the few companies which still puts focus on a diesel mill.
The RM20,000 difference between the Executive and Premium trims for each variant goes to the addition of features that include Rear Occupant Alert; Blind-Spot Collision Warning; Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning, bi-function LED Projection, dynamic bending light, 8-way power seat for the front passenger and 10-way power seat for the driver.
Additionally, there’s leather dashboard trim; deluxe cloth or suede on the pillar; sun visor and roof trim; 7-inch Supervision TFT LCD, Floating-typed 7-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power tailgate, wireless phone charger, rain sensor, 19-inch wheels and LED lamps.
Rear occupant alert is the latest tech to be included in a vehicle sold by HSDM. What it does is monitors the rear seat using an ultrasonic sensor and detects their movement. The objective of this is to avoid instances when a child is accidentally left inside the car alone, or they are locked in unintentionally.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ESC, and VSM. Every variant also includes Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition, parking distance warning (front & rear), and back warning camera.
The all-new Santa Fe comes with 50,000km free service valid for 3 years, and five year or 300,000km warranty.
