You can have the Sorento in either six or seven-seater configuration

Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd recently previewed the fourth-generation Kia Sorento after the SUV was spotted a few times while testing around the country. 

Redesigned from the ground-up, the front of the Sorento evolves with a new interpretation of Kia’s hallmark ‘tiger nose’ grille, displaying a wider shape which wraps around the integrated headlamps on each side. 

The headlamps feature a new ‘tiger eyeline’ LED daytime running light, adding an extra focus to the design by depicting the intense impression of the lines around the tiger’s eyes.

The proportions of the Sorento are subtly adapted to make it appear longer, with shorter front and rear overhangs and a longer wheelbase. 

Inside, the material quality of the fourth generation Sorento is enhanced with sophisticated next-generation design with blending metallic trims, leather upholstery and embossed wood-effect surfaces. 

The 12.3-inch digital driver instrument cluster is paired with a 10.25-inch infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard. 

A wireless smartphone charger sits at the base of the centre console while the BOSE surround-sound system provides in immersive in-car audio experience. The infotainment systems are compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto to provide seamless smartphone integration.

In terms of powertrain and seat configuration, the All-New Kia Sorento comes in 2 types of seat layouts. While the base 7-seater configuration (2-3-2) variant comes equipped with the 2.5L ‘Smartstream’ 2WD gasoline engine, the 6-seater configuration (2-2-2) comes in 2 powertrain choices - the 2.5L ‘Smartstream’ AWD petrol engine and 2.2L ‘Smartstream’ AWD diesel engine.

Both ‘Smartstream’ gasoline engine variants are paired with a 6-Speed Automatic transmission and produce up to 177 horsepower and 232 Nm of torque. 

As for the  ‘Smartstream’ 2.2D diesel engine variant is paired with Kia’s new 8-speed wet double-clutch transmission (8DCT), which is designed to offer smooth shifting and enhance fuel efficiency and produces 199 horsepower and 440 Nm torque.

The All-New Kia Sorento is locally assembled at the Inokom Assembly plant located in Kulim, Kedah and will be made available locally in the near future. 

That being said, the All-New Kia Sorento is now officially available for booking with an estimated starting price range from RM 220,000 to RM 255,000.00.
