BMW Malaysia recently announced the arrival of the New BMW M2 to the Malaysian market, with online prebooking now officially open.

There will be two versions, namely the M2 and the M2 Pro which comes with a longer list of features, with prices as mentioned below:

  • BMW M2                                 - RM 598,800
  • BMW M2 with Pro Package    - RM 642,800

On the exterior, the new M2 measures 214 mm less in exterior length than the BMW M4 Coupé models and has a 110-mm shorter wheelbase. At the same time, the vehicle and track widths exceed the figures for the new BMW 2 Series Coupé by a considerable margin.

The large, frameless BMW kidney grille with its horizontal bars combines with a three-section lower air intake with almost rectangular contours to give the front end of the car a familiar M look.

Powering the M2 is the same 3.0-litre 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine kicking out 460 hp and 550 Nm, which is 90 hp more than the outgoing model. The engine’s power is relayed to the rear wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic as standard, allowing the car to sprint to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds while hitting a top speed of 250 km/h.

Inside, the new M2 features the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Curved Display as standard. This new display combination consists of the 12.3-inch fully digital instrument display and the 14.9-inch Control Display. Coupled with the latest BMW Operating System 8 with user-configurable widgets, the driver will always have information displayed in real time.
