The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has spoken, get that expired driving license and road tax renewed!
The current COVID-19 situation related to the Movement Control Order and National Recovery Plan hhave put some relief when it comes to driving license and road tax renewal for a few months now. That is all about to come to an end as the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that all the expired documents will need to be renewed by 30 September 2021.
There will be no more extension after the said date above, and the authorities will begin to monitor and enforce all vehicle operators on the road, including vocational licenses (PSV/GDL) starting 1 October 2021. The latest extension was given to those who had their licenses expired between June to July where they had the opportunity to continue driving and riding until the end of September 2021 (as long as the vehicle's insurance is in order).
JPJ has also stated that the renewals of expired driving licenses and road tax can be done online via MySikap, JPJ's over-the-counter, and other strategic partners like MyEG and Pos Malaysia. This can all be done starting 9 August 2021. For those who prefer over-the-counter services, do book an appointment first before heading there. To book an appointment, CLICK HERE.
