For many avid car enthusiasts, one of the best ways to spruce up one’s ride is to give it a tasty wheel swap or upgrade. Though there are many brands out in the open market today that offer plenty of choices, finding one imbued with high style and quality can be tough.

On that note, the SSW brand of alloy wheels could be one solid option for many to consider. A subsidiary of the Stamford Tyres Corporation Limited, SSW (short for Stamford Sport Wheels) offers a wide range of wheels that are varied in both design and vehicle-type suitability, and sold in more than 25 countries worldwide.

Since 2004, the SSW brand has been manufacturing alloy wheels in its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in the Nonthanburi province of Thailand. All of its wheels are casted out of Grade-A (A356.2) aluminium ingot supplied from two top global suppliers, those being Hydro from Russia and Dubal from the Middle East.

All manufacturing processes from casting, machining and painting are strictly monitored by SSW’s QC (Quality Control) personnel to ensure all of them meet the high international quality standards set by bodies like TUV Germany, JWL Japan, SNI Indonesia, EAC Russia and ISO 9001:2005.

Though the brand produces an extensive range of wheels, we’ll focus on just three products specifically as they are primarily developed for Asian markets such as ours. They are the S185, S290, and the S348 models.

Starting with the S185 model, these wheels were designed with compatibility for various car and SUV models. The SSW S185 can be had in 17, 18, and 20-inch sizes finished in Black Metallic Chrome to match its machined face finish that also feature full-colour and font milling touches.

Next up comes SSW’s S290 offering, which was developed specifically with Eco- and City cars in mind. Available in 15, 18 and 19-inch sizes, the S290 model also features machined face finish with full-colour and font milling touches, as well as SSW’s signature Full Polish Black finish. Its QC test load figure stands at 500kg, thus making this lightweight wheel suited for cars that favour fuel efficiency above all else.

With the S348 model, this offering from SSW sees itself focused primarily at the C-segment sedan and SUVs segment. Available in 17 and 18-inch size options, the S348 also sports SSW’s signature machined face finish with full-colour, font milling and Full Polish Black finishes. Its QC test load figure, on the other hand, stands at 690kg, which sees itself suitable for most mid-sized sedans and SUVs currently on sale today.

Besides these three wheels featured, SSW also produces many other designs. Besides passenger cars, the brand’s catalogue even includes SUV- and 4x4-specific wheels. Visit stamfordwheels.com for more details on current range of products and offerings.
