In light of the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, Cycle & Carriage and Petronas recently teamed up to deliver a “Balik Kampung Like Never Before” experience to Mercedes-Benz customers and fans alike. The event took guests on a 120-km road trip across Selangor in Mercedes-Benz cars fuelled by the new Petronas PRIMAX 95 with Pro-Drive formulation.

“Malaysia is a vibrant country where diversity is celebrated all year round. The common underlying theme of the various cultural festivities celebrated is travelling back home and celebrating with our loved ones; in other words, to balik kampung,” said Cycle & Carriage CEO Wilfrid Foo during the flag-off ceremony at Cycle & Carriage Bintang’s Mercedes-Benz City Store @ TREC.

“We are thrilled to be a part of today’s adventure as a trusted partner of Petronas to bring to you an exhilarating experience you will not forget,” he added.

Throughout the day of the event, the convoy visited nine different pit stops to experience cultural activities and traditional games in a day-long simulation of a typical balik kampung experience.

Petronas Dagangan Berhad’s Head of Retail Business Division, Khalil J M Muri, noted that participants had fun with games they played in their younger days like Tapak Gajah (walking on coconut footwear), Batu Seremban and Baling Selipar (bowling with slippers).

Balik Kampung Like Never Before” is one of many initiatives by Cycle & Carriage marking its 120th anniversary and the company’s accompanying promise of ‘Exceptional Journeys’.

In January, Cycle & Carriage launched Star Galleria, a mobile Mercedes-Benz showroom that will visit multiple locations across Malaysia throughout 2019. This was followed by a Chinese New Year dinner with customers, the launch of its inaugural Cycle & Carriage Study Grant, as well as donating IT appliances to the Montfort Boys Town (MBT). There is also an ongoing regional campaign giving away 120 ‘specially curated trips’ to Mongolia, Nepal and Korea.
