ABT has given the new Audi TT RS 450bhp

The new RS6 and a swathe of monster-fast SUVs might be making up all of Audi’s headlines at the moment, but there’s also a refreshed TT RS. Which means, as night follows day and a scream inevitably follows a ‘watch this’ moment, there’s ABT’s take on the lil’ pup.

We’re simply told that a new ECU has boosted the 2.5-litre five-pot’s output from 395bhp to 450bhp, along with a healthy torque increase from 480Nm to 529Nm. “Of course with the ABT way of performance tuning, all the safety features of the original engine stay active, offering a safe and reliable power increase,” says ABT itself.

ABT hasn’t specified just how fast this upgrade makes the TT RS, but a ‘standard’ car is still rocketship quick: 0-100kph in 3.7secs (conservative, at best) and a top speed of 280kph.

It’s a cracking engine in this guise, too. In addition to the increased power, there’s a new stainless steel sports exhaust setup with a pair of dual tips out back. Should be suitably annoying for your neighbours first thing in the morning, one suspects.

Wheels? There are some, and they are available as either matt black 19in items, or 20in ‘GR’ wheels in either matt or gloss black. And as you can see, you can option other, more… distinctive exterior parts.
