A Renault Megane RS subscription plan actually exists

All of us love a good sports car. But few of us can actually afford one, not in the traditional sense anyway. That's the exact issue Tan Chong Euro Cars (TCEC) aims to address by roping the new Renault Megane RS 280 Cup into its subscription line-up, thereby giving Malaysians the option to "subscribe" to sports car ownership like never before.

From RM3,999 a month, you can virtually enjoy full ownership of your very own Megane RS - 276bhp, 4Control and all - minus the cost and hassle of road tax, insurance and scheduled maintenance. There's a catch, though. You've got to commit to three years of driving a stick shift (that doesn't sound too bad, actually) to enjoy the Megane RS's lowest rate. The chart on the right gives you a better breakdown of the subscription plans on offer.

TCEC also offers something called a 'Switch Plan', which is essentially a yearly subscription of the Captur with the option for the customer to switch to either a Koleos or Megane RS for up to four months within the subscription period, from RM1,999 a month.

“We believe that Subscription is the alternative that consumers are looking for in their vehicle ownership experience. With the updated Switch Plan, Renault Subscription is even more compelling as customers can now swap from the compact Captur to the luxurious new Koleos SUV, and over to the high-performance machine offered with the MEGANE R.S. The public interest in Renault Subscription has exceeded our expectations, so we believe we are on the right track,” Wong Hoe Mun, CEO of TCEC
