The Yamaha 135LC has gone through quite an evolution for 2022

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has launched its most powerful 135cc moped yet for the Malaysian market, the 2022 Yamaha 135LC FI. As you can see by its name, the legendary Yamaha LC model is now fuel-injected thanks to a new engine - a 135cc Euro4 auto-clutch fuel-injected single-cylinder engine.

This power unit produces 9.3kW (roughly around 12.4hp) at 8,000rpm and 12.2Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. Housed within a redesigned backbone body frame, the 2022 Yamaha 135LC FI is said to have improved performance, smoother acceleration, and enhanced aerodynamics due to its shape and lightweight nature.

The overall design elements have been updated for 2022 with all-LED lights front and back, a new digital speedometer, and a larger 4.6-litre fuel tank. Safety-wise, the new 135LC FI also comes with a rear disc brake setup plus a redesigned swingarm to further improve its overall braking performance.

For those who are interested, the 2022 Yamaha 135LC FI comes in two different variants - the base model priced at RM7,798 and the Special Edition model at RM8,198 (prices excluding insurance, road tax, and registration). The SE model comes in the exclusive Desert Storm Special Edition colourway plus a Yamaha waterproof premium basket with a USB charger. The base model is available in Ruby Red, Crystal Cyan, and Midnight Star.
