Check out the new 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S 580 and GLS 600 beauties

If AMG is not enough to whet your appetite in terms of luxury, you might want to look into the Maybach territory. Mercedes-Maybach, the ultimate luxury sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz, has launched two of its latest offerings here in Malaysia, the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4Matic and the GLS 600 4Matic. Put your pinkies up high for these beauties, folks.

Starting with the S 580 4Matic, it's considered to be the ultimate form of transportation from Mercedes-Maybach to be chauffeured around like a boss. Its combination of beautiful design paired with the latest tech and powertrain makes the S 580 a worthy form of transport to travel in the ultimate comfort and style.

Powered by a 4.0-litre eight-cylinder engine, the S 580 produces a very healthy 503hp and 700Nm of torque. Paired with an electric motor that offers an additional 15kW and 200Nm of torque, your driver can propel it from 0-100km/h in just 4.8 seconds before comfortably arriving at its limited 250km/h top speed.

Tuned for the ultimate form of comfort, drivers have a number of driving modes to choose from the Dynamic Select menu, including the Maybach driving mode that focuses entirely on ride comfort (paired with the car's ESP suspension package, 9G-Tronic transmission, E-Active Body Control, rear-axle steering, and many more). All of these while riding on 21-inch Maybach multi-spoke forged wheels, baby.

The insides are just as 'baller' with specs like comfort rear doors, panoramic sliding sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery, executive seats, latest-gen MBUX Interior Assistant, adaptive rear lighting, five OLED display screens (12.8-inch centre display), and a host of safety features that requires a separate article just to mention and explain them all.

If, however, you're in a mood for an SUV, the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4Matic. The same luxurious design and ultimate comfort ethos have been applied to this particular GLS, no matter where you choose to sit in this very tasteful and expensive SUV (it is a Mercedes-Maybach, after all).

The GLS 600 4Matic comes with a 4.0-litre V8 engine that produces 557hp and 730Nm of torque. Paired with a 16kW electric motor with an additional 250Nm of torque, the GLS 600 is able to propel itself from 0-100km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Top speed? Also limited to 250km/h.

Other highlighted features include electrically extending running boards, Executive Rear seats (all seats are electrically adjustable, heated, climatised, and equipped with massage functions as standard), Energizing Package comfort control, MBUX Command Centre Rear, and again, a host of electronic driving aids that goes on and on and on.

For those who are interested, the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4Matic and GLS 600 4Matic are priced at RM1,928,815.76 and RM1,789,453.18 respectively (recommended retail price, including 5% sales tax). For those lovely individual custom options, those are obviously going to be extra. But that won't really matter if you can afford these two lovelies.
